Nostepinne

Isn't it pretty? A hand-crafted Phil Powell Cocobolo nostepinne. I bought this at my last guild meeting; Phil's sister is a fellow member and sometimes brings wooden goodies for us to drool over. I fell in love with this one, passing up tulipwood and yelllowheart nostes.

Nostepinnes are used to wind yarn, making tidy little center pull balls. And that's about all I know about them. So I Asked (much better than google) the innernets and found a great how-to video from Kristi at Fiber Fool, who - small world - lives near Rachel in Fort Collins and is on my daily read list.
